Set Phasers on Sue! 
In October 1997, CNN interviewed me for a segment on the copyright battle between Paramount and Star Trek fan sites on the Internet. At the time, I had volunteered to assist the Online Freedom Federation, a grassroots group of Star Trek fans whose websites were being targeted by Paramount's lawyers for closure. As a result of our persistent efforts, Paramount ultimately softened its stance and realized that it was squandering too much good will by trying to shut down fan sites. I'm proud of my modest contribution to educate Paramount on the value of tolerating and even encouraging fandom online.
