Kropserkel Prop Party (September 2006) When he's not creating museum-quality costumes and replicas, Kropserkel Studio Director Scott Maple grills a mean burger. Scott and his lovely wife Brenda, longtime fixtures on the prop collecting scene, opened their house to around thirty people. Unlike other parties I've attended, the attendees didn't bring a lot of props to showcase. Instead, the focus was on the people and on socializing. It was a very adult and relaxed vibe. Of course, Scott's basement is also the Kropserkel workshop, so many very cool projects in various stages were on display.
This was one of the better parties I attended, and I am privileged to enjoy the friendship of Scott and Brenda, two of the nicest and most talented people in the hobby. One highlight from a very enjoyable weekend was meeting the newest member of the Kropserkel team, one-year-old Jack Maple, aka the Kroptoddler.
As they say in their native Canadian tongue, that's what it's all aboot....
